Norwich City Breaks
Freedom is located on the outskirts of Norwich which makes us an ideal location for a city break with a difference. The river runs right into the heart of the city which is less than an hour's river travel from our boat yard and just a few minutes by bus or taxi. The city hosts many events and is regularly voted as one of the best shopping destinations in the UK. Visit the stunning cathedreals, castle and museums or simply mosey along down the river. Why not take a dinghy and you can explore parts of the Rivers Yare and Wensum that are unnavagable by cruiser. People often ignore Norwich when they have a boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads which is a great shame as Norwich should be considered to be the jewel of the entire river system.
Relax on the Norfolk Broads
If you've never had a river cruiser holiday before, you're missing out on the most relaxing adventure holiday possible. The Norfolk Broads is a haven for wildlife and is an internationally important wetland environment and you can holiday right in the middle of it, escaping from the stress of our modern fast paced lives to meander along unspoiled rivers and beautiful villages at just 4mph! You don't even need a driving license.
Boating Holidays are easy
Worried about not being able to handle the boat? Don't be. Our Norfolk Broads holiday cruisers are simple to handle but we'll give you one of the most comprehensive river trials available before you set off from the boat yard. We'll ensure you're happy with the controls and know the rules of the river to keep you safe and ensure you have a great holiday.
Bring the whole family - children and well behaved dogs are welcome. Most of our boats will pass under Potter Heigham Bridge, Wroxham and Beccles bridges at the correct tidal conditions. But don't worry if they don't, all these bridges are close to the ends of navigation and not getting under won't restrict your holiday very much. There will still be around 100 miles of river to explore!
Investing in the Norfolk Broads
Freedom Boating Holidays is an independent Norfolk Boating agency. Founded in October 2007 with just one hire craft, Freedom quickly expanded it's fleet to over 10 boats in its first year of business and earned the loyalty of numerous customers. Headed by family team, Andrew & Nicola Banner, Freedom Boating Holidays' first year of operation was a complete success, so much so that the business moved to a completely new, independent boatyard in Horning and expanded to 14 cruisers in 2009. In 2013, the Freedom fleet moved again and is now at home just 45 minutes cruise from the centre of Norwich which makes us the perfect choice for city breaks and stag / hen parties as well as allowing our more sedate customers to enjoy the beauty and quiet of the Southern Broads. Freedom constantly strives is to provide quality boating holidays onboard comfortable, easy to handle river cruisers at a price point that represents excellent value for money.
We want each and every holiday maker to have a great relaxing holiday here on the beautiful Norfolk Broads. We operate a friendly, flexible family business that is honest and open throughout. Check out our Plain, Simple Pricing Policy for an example.

Why take a boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads?
The Norfolk Broads, Britain's Premier Wetland, have been a popular holiday destination for over a century, the first yachts being built and run by the likes of skilled boat builders John Loynes and Ernest Collins at the turn of the 20th century. In the last 100 years, the boats that populate our rivers have changed dramatically, but the landscape remains as wonderful as ever with rivers flowing through stunning villages and hamlets, suddenly opening up into the vast open waters that are the Norfolk Broads.
