What to pack for your Freedom Boating Holiday.

12 key things to bring with you.

Ideal First Timer's Advice

Simple - do not forget - ideas.

Preparing for your first boating holiday can be challenging. Whilst all our boats have heating, cooking facilities, fridges and other mod-cons, it would be wrong to think that your boat is a facsimile of your home. Fridges are often smaller than their domestic counterparts are aren't designed to freeze things. Another difference is the heating which will typically take the chill off the air and warm it up, but don’t expect the efficiency of your central heating.

Avoid big suitcases

Storage space is generally limited so you need to pack lightly but with options for various weather conditions. There is rarely anywhere to store a suitcase on a boat unless you have booked a vessel that gives you spare beds. We would recommend using soft, collapsible holdalls that can be ferreted away. If you do bring suitcases, consider unpacking and then leaving them in your car.
